In 1974, Jack Laverdiere had the dream of building his own home and going into the home building business. He fulfilled this dream, and a few years later pursued concrete construction and commercial buildings.
In 1992, there was a need for a new subdivision in Macomb. Woodland Estates was born from that idea in 1993 and 1994. In 1994, Jon Lundgren came aboard, adding sewer & water construction, earthwork and site development to the scope of Laverdiere Construction. Commercial Rental, a retail store servicing West Central Illinois, was added in 1998.
In 2001, Jack and Jon added a ready mix operation to the company to serve its growing needs. In 2004, Mitch Lynn was hired as a commercial estimator and project manager. In 2014, he became part owner of the company by purchasing stock. Mitch now heads up the commercial division of the company.
Today Laverdiere Construction has 120 full-time employees and seasonally adds an additional 25-50 employees. Laverdiere Construction performs construction for customers in a 100-mile radius around Macomb (and further for repeat customers).
